A Room Becomes a “Dave Cave”

Kids grow, and so do their spaces. My son David recently moved from a toy-and-clothes storage zone into a full-on retreat: brand-new furniture, a TV, and a loft bed. Underneath became his favorite spot—a cozy nook where he eats, plays, and studies. Naturally, it earned a nickname: the “Dave Cave.”

From Niche to Noticeable

To mark this transformation, I designed a custom wood door sign: “The Dave Cave.” Think rustic directional signs or personalized name plaques—but made just for him. It celebrates his space with personality and warmth.

How It Was Made

I handled everything—from initial sketch to final installation:

1. Design: Drafted a background plank shape fitting a door sign style.
2. Cut & Engrave: Used a precise laser to cut the sign outline and engrave the layered text. No need to brag on tools—it just delivers sharp, clean edges quickly and beautifully.

The Big Reveal

When David saw the sign mounted on his door, he lit up. He immediately claimed it—his own little identity marker—and has proudly referred to the space as the “Dave Cave” ever since.
